Those of you who are familiar with Awaken Solace will notice a new face joining us on stage this Wednesday. It is with great sadness that we have to announce that our bass player and backing vocalist Taylor Quine had to recently resign from Awaken Solace. Taylor worked with us on the recording of our debut album ‘In Nightfall’s Embrace’ and his contribution to it is phenomenal with intricate bass lines and soaring vocals. We hope that we may have the opportunity to work with Taylor and his amazing voice again in future as he will always be an important part of the Awaken Solace family.
But the show must go on!!! On Wednesday night we will be introducing our newest member Jimmy Barrett. Jimmy has been rehearsing with us over the past month as a fill-in bass player/vocalist in preparation for our coming shows but it quickly became evident that he was going to fit in permanently. Jimmy brings with him a wealth of experience having trained as a violist before mastering the bass. He is also a proud member of kick ass Brisbane metal band Soul Legion. Welcome to Awaken Solace Jimmy \m/.
Please check our gigs page for details on Wednesday night's show.

We’re pleased to announce that our recordings for ‘In Nightfall’s Embrace’ are now with mastering engineer Caio Cortonesi of BroadBand Productions, Brazil. Caio specialises in working with metal bands and has produced everything from death & thrash through to melodic & pagan metal. Caio is also the frontman for his own successful band in Brazil ‘Dynahead’. We’ve already heard what he’s done so far with the drum tracks and they are sounding awesome, we can’t wait to hear the final product. You can check out some of his previous work here
Things at the studio have been progressing and we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We've just finished tracking our main vocals and harmonies which are already sounding amazing! This weekend, we will be welcoming the Padua Middle-School Vocal Ensemble to the recording studio to add their angelic voices to a couple of our songs. We'll then proceed to finish off the guitar and keytar solos, before diving into the final phase to complete the orchestra parts as well as record some solo instrumentalists. We plan to release another teaser once this is all done.
We're glad that everyone has enjoyed the promotional photos we have posted online so far. We still have a few top secret images from the day, which we will be releasing at a later date as part of the album art.
In other exciting news, we have been invited to perform at the Ye Gods of Metal festival at the Logan Entertainment Centre 31 March 2012. There will be some great local talent playing on the day including fellow Brisbane symphonic metal bands Alpine Fault and Dark Symphonica. For anyone who has yet to check out the festival, please head over to the facebook page and show your support by clicking 'attending'.
We thank you all for your positive comments so far. We can't begin to express how excited we are to share our music with you guys... we can safely say the time of awakening is near...
